Dan Vogel is a friend and an indefatigable scholar whose works are dedicated to portraying Joseph Smith as a pious deceiver. The energy he devotes to this enterprise is impressive as he provides his audiences with historical explanations that depict the Prophet as uninspired and even conspiring. To date, Dan seems to manifest no faith or even proclivity for faith. It might be argued that faith undermines objective scholarship, but that is untrue. Everyone has beliefs and non-faith biases will influence scholarship as readily as faith does.
Our opposing views on several topics may be of interest to observers, especially those dealing with Joseph Smith and plural marriage.
